David Adams

Chief Executive

David is a Chartered Project Management Surveyor with a Post Graduate degree in Project Management and 30 years experience of major projects. David founded MPM Adams Ltd in 1987 and grew the business nationally before taking the business into the Capita Group in 1999. David headed up all Project Management activities within the Capita Group, including such major contracts as the £285m Braehead Retail and Leisure project. MPM Adams Ltd doubled in size in the 3 years after joining Capita, growing to employ 200 people and turnover £15 m in fees. David subsequently assumed responsibility under Capita Property Services for all Cost Management and Building Surveying Services, giving a combined payroll of some 450 staff and a fee turnover of £40m.

After 3 successful years with Capita, David left in March 2003 to re-establish his own business under the Adams Consulting Group banner and return to a more `hands on' role. He was also involved in pioneering the use of 'Single Point Responsibility' contracts with Arlington Securities and successfully employed this technique on many diverse major projects such as Office Developments (Strathclyde Business Park - £50m), Hospitals (Health Care International - £125m), Retail (Braehead Shopping Centre - £285m) and various mixed use schemes for clients such as Standard Life Developments, Thornfield and Heron. David is a former chairman of the Association of Project Management (Scotland) and an Expert Witness on Project Management Services.
