Ross is a Chartered Surveyor with a Diploma in Building Surveying from Glasgow College of Building and Printing in 1987.

Ross started his career with British Rail Property Board in Manchester and Glasgow, and Chartered in 1990 while with Knight, Frank & Rutley in Edinburgh, he then moved to Ryden, also in Edinburgh. In 1994 Ross joined MPM Adams to develop the Building Surveying arm of the company. The department grew and developed into one of the largest Scottish based Building Surveying Departments.

After 7 years Ross joined Cyril Sweet and then Colliers both times as Director of Building Surveying for Scotland. In July 2008, Ross re-formed his acquaintance with David Adams to join ACG as Managing Director of the Building Surveying Division.

Ross brings extensive experience on the full range of Building Surveying activities for both public and private sector clients. His focus remains the understanding and development of client needs to deliver projects that exceed client expectations.

Significant recent projects include:

▪ New neighbourhood retail scheme at Duloch Park, Dunfermline (£1.9m)
▪ New Trade Counter Industrial estate at Hawick
▪ Project monitoring for major town centre re-development schemes at Bury (£350m) and Thornaby (19m).
▪ Numerous pre-acquisition surveys of industrial, retail and commercial properties
▪ Major strip out and refurbishment projects
