Jim trained as a Quantity Surveyor and moved into Construction Management with Sir Robert McAlpine in the 80s, working on a variety of projects including the St Enoch Shopping Centre in Glasgow as Assistant Project Manager. After a further 10 years in construction as a Construction Director, Jim joined David Adams in MPM Adams Ltd in 1999 to assume responsibility for PFI Projects such as the new Wishaw General Hospital and Dumfries Royal Infirmary Extension.
Jim spent 18 months at St Georges Hospital in London where he steered the £45m state of the art hospital to completion. Jim heads up our PFI/PPP Projects Division where his construction experience has been instrumental in developing our Progress Monitoring and Control systems. Recent Healthcare/Healthcare PPP projects have included Lochgilphead (£15m), Salisbury (£25m), Stobhill (£20m) and a variety of Primary Care projects throughout Scotland (£13.5m). The company, as partner Project managers/Employer's Agent to the Canmore PPP Consortium have recently completed the Ambulatory Care and Diagnostics Hospitals at Victoria and Stobhill in Glasgow (£200); where the Stobhill Hospital has received the Best Healthcare Award at the Glasgow Institute of Architects Awards, the Best Hospital Award at the Building Better Healthcare Awards and received the Grand Prix at the Roses Awards for the Best Building outside of London.
Also in partnership with the Canmore PPP Consortium the company is managing to Financial Close a 60 Bed ward extension (£16m) to the recently completed Stobhill Hospital where Financial Close is expected in December 2009.
